The bells of St Thomas the Martyr, Bristol have been infamous as a hard going but rewarding ring. They are all still on there 1894 L&J fittings in the unusual layout that has evolved since the first bells were installed.

Their has been an ongoing program of work to try and keep these bells ringable. The programme work increased in 2005 and has never stopped. Since 1894 there have been 17 successful peal rung on them. This is a credit to all those who have helped, past and present to maintain these majestic old bells.

Without the generous support, help and advice from CCT, Hayward Mills Associates and Matthew Higby and company Ltd, most of the work to keep this historic peal going would not have been possible.
